CHINA ACADEMY OF ART AND THE YI COMMUNITY, E'BIAN.
Creative KEN organised four designers to visit the city of Ebian with China Academy of Art students and professors to participate in a 5 day masterclass around sustaining rural traditions in China.
Simon Fraser, Ultra Indigo, Lorna Bircham, Textile Designer and Weaver, Leonid Krykhtin, Designer at Zaha Hadid and Kate Sedwell, Director, Creative KEN, visited Ebian in September 2018 to develop ideas and suggestions for sustaining the Yi Communities amazing array of traditional craft and culture, whilst making a sustainable living. Ideas and concepts were presented in September 2019 at the London Design Fair, Truman Brewery, London.

YOUNG DESIGN TALENTS TRAINING PROGRAMME
Funded by the China National Arts Fund, Creative KEN organised the delivery of a bespoke three-week masterclass for young creatives selected by Guan Shanyue Art Museum of China.
The training was aimed at young designers from China and designed so they would have a chance to enhance their design concept, reflect to their own work and solve practical problems, as well as to observe the UK's creative industry and economy.

COMMUNICATIONS UNIVERSITY CHINA, NANJING, 7 DAY MASTERCLASS
This project was developed in collaboration with Communications University China, Nanjing to deliver an international textile workshop to their Fashion and Design BA students. Sending a well respected designer and practitioner in the field of textile design, the students undertook a colour workshop over 7 days, with an exhibition at the end of the workshop.
Students not only experienced a different teaching approach from our UK practitioner, but also practiced their English language and learned about independent study.
